What the 55 tests actually examine

Eight diagnostic panels, each looking at a different system in your body. Here's what each one tells your doctor.

Complete Blood Count 13 tests Screens for anaemia, infection, clotting problems and immune disorders by measuring red cells, white cells, haemoglobin and platelets.

Thyroid Function Test 3 tests Checks T3, T4 and TSH to detect an under- or over-active thyroid — a common cause of fatigue, weight change and hair loss.

Blood Glucose — FBS / PPBS 2 tests Fasting and post-meal sugar levels, the first step in detecting diabetes or pre-diabetes.

Liver Function Test 10 tests Enzymes, proteins and bilirubin that reveal fatty liver, hepatitis, alcohol-related damage and bile duct problems.

HbA1c 2 tests Your average blood sugar over the past three months — a far more reliable picture of diabetes control than a single reading.
